Dog rescuers are some of the most important people on this planet, if you ask me. They put their lives on the line and devote all of their time and efforts to saving animals and dogs that are abandoned, injured, lost, or just in need of some TLC.
Some are volunteers who won't even get paid for their time-consuming and heartbreaking journeys to save dogs. These heroes still do it for the cases that end well, or the ones that start horribly but end by nurturing the dogs back to happy and healthy lives.
This video from Animal Aid Unlimited in India starts sadly, but it couldn't have had a happier ending.
Rescuers somehow spotted a dog stuck in water in a well. She had apparently been there clinging to the wall for hours, too scared or frozen to move. These brave men then stepped in and helped, with one rescuer diving down into the well with ropes.
Clearly, no one should ever be swimming in a well, so they were putting themselves at risk, but they couldn't just leave this hopeless dog there to die.
Once the man reached the water, the dog clearly seemed terrified and out of energy. By the time they get her back on land and in the right care, her entire demeanor was different.
