No one likes feeling like they’re not safe. We all want to feel secure when we’re home.
But after a series of home break-ins hit 6-year-old Braxton Lawrence’s neighborhood, he and his family didn’t quite feel as safe anymore.
They came home and their entire house had been rummaged through by burglars. After everything was searched through, any item that could be pawned off was taken, including Braxton’s piggy bank which he had filled with coins.
The series of break-ins made the local news, and eventually the thief was caught.
But when a local man heard that Braxton’s bank had been taken in the theft, he had had just about enough of this petty crime and decided to do something about it.
So, he went out and bought Braxton another piggy bank in the shape of his favorite super hero, Spiderman. But he didn’t want to let anyone know who he was.
Instead of revealing himself to Braxton and his Mom, he left the piggy bank at the customer service desk at the local Food Lion grocery store and then texted Lindsey telling her how she could get it.
“I have no idea who they are, they dropped it off at a Food Lion,” Lindsey said. “Then they sent a text and told me who I needed to speak with and how I needed to pick it up. To this day I have no idea who it is."
