Detroit mom Katie Stricker Curtis felt no need to be too serious about her giving birth. Although she was in labor pain, she put on a Chewbacca mask and began filming.
In the video below, Katie holds her stomach and is clearly in the process of giving birth while lying in a hospital bed. However, all her cries of agony only come out in Shyriiwook, the Wookiee language from Star Wars.
The mask instantly translates any language into Shryiiwook, making for a delightfully funny video. Katie's video is clearly inspired by the viral hit "Chewbacca Mom," who famously record her infectious laughter in the costume on Facebook Live.
"Just because I'm about to be a mom doesn't mean I have to grow up!" she wrote when she shared the hilarious video on Facebook.
The mother gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Jayden.
"Hilarious… It made me laugh thanks for sharing!!" one woman responded.
"The woman who gave birth while wearing a Chewbacca mask is the kind of woman I aspire to be," another tweeted.
"Oh my Goodness! This is hilarious! It should go viral, be a big hit for sure! My prayers for smooth delivery and awesome, healthy baby," another woman commented.
