EMT Brings Pregnant Mom To The Hospital, Then Finds Her Lying On The Floor Hours Later

When mom of two Karla Batiste went into labor, firefighters rushed her to the hospital. She and her husband were prepared to welcome their third child, a baby boy, into the world.

But to their great surprise, she was sent right back home. Her water hadn't yet broken, and she wasn't dilated. It did not appear that the baby was on his way just yet, contrary to what the parents thought.

But 20 minutes after arriving home, Karla knew for sure that it was time: She started feeling contractions, and before she knew it, she was on the linoleum-tile floor of her home giving birth.

Her husband rushed to call 911 yet again, but the labor was so quick that before EMTs and firefighters arrived, baby Christian was already born!

Firefighter and EMT Steven Graves arrived at the scene just in time. He had taken the couple to the hospital the first time around and was certainly stunned to find the mother and newborn on the floor.

His training kicked in, and he checked to see if the baby was breathing and making sounds, and then clamped the umbilical cord. If he hadn't shown up when he did, who knows what could have happened! He kept the mother calm until the ambulance came too.

Now, Graves has become part of their family after the ordeal!
