It's not unusual for cab passengers to accidentally leave a personal item in the car when they get out. But how would one justify leaving their dog behind? Well, that's exactly what happened to Brandi, a driver who found a pit bull in the back seat after dropping off a customer. On top of that, the client asked her strange questions throughout the ride.
Brandi works as an Uber driver in Gilbert, Arizona.
She recently picked up a man and his 9-month-old pit bull, then drove them about 30 minutes toward the East Valley.
Brandi said the man asked her questions, especially one that stuck with her: "Doesn't bother you that she's a pit bull?"
Brandi loved pit bulls herself, but the questioning felt like an interview.
Once they reached their destination (an apartment complex), the man quickly rushed out. It didn't take Brandi long to realize that he had left the pit bull in the back seat.
She went into the apartment complex and searched for the man, but to no avail.
The phone number linked to his Uber account was also disabled.
But Brandi had a theory as to why he left the pit bull, named Honey, in her car.
"Maybe rather than advertising on Craigslist, he was trying to find if [the dog] found a connection with somebody,” she said.
