One poor grandmother learned this the hard way when she tested out a headset for the first time.
The virtual reality she experienced was a roller coaster ride, which may sound fun or terrifying depending on how you feel about heights.
It starts out hesitantly excited, but then it begins to dip and drop. Then it's all downhill from there, so to speak.
