Sometimes even the worst tragedies can end in hope for the future.
A mom named Machondia Atkins and her daughter, Lexi, had just brought home a puppy of their own and were overjoyed. Unfortunately, their bliss didn't last long and the puppy passed away only a few weeks after they got her.
They were stricken with grief and very affected by their tiny dog's death. But little did they know, a stranger with a special gift was on the horizon.
A woman named Anna had heard about Machondia's story on the news and instantly connected to the mom and daughter' loss. Then, she decided to get up and do something about it. She got in touch with the news station and told them she could help. And indeed, she knew just what to do.
She showed up with a puppy in a pink blanket for the family to love and cherish as they moved past their time of mourning.
In the video below, posted on March 24, 2017, Anna explains, "This touches me as much as it touches them because it's just a real privilege and an honor to do something so special for someone this special."
The puppy she brings in the pink blanket is greatly appreciated by Machondia and Lexi, it's almost life changing.
Machondia says, "It's just amazing, I'm just telling you. Things work, they just manifest themselves!"
Aside from bringing joy to the family, Anna also provides the proud mom with her friendship. They bond over their back surgeries, something they wouldn't ever know about each other if they hadn't met under these circumstances.
"This is going to be a lifelong friendship, I can already tell," Anna laughs.
Thanks to Anna and a puppy in a pink blanket, the Atkins can enjoy the joys of a new pet and then fun of a new friendship all at once.
