Craig Mcgettrick was outside with a coworker when they found an old mattress.
The garden in England that they were cleaning was full of garbage. But when they lifted the mattress, they found something neither expected.
Underneath were five itty-bitty puppies. They were so young that it was hard to tell what breed they were, but Craig knew he needed to help the little babies.
He put the sweet puppies into a cardboard box with a towel, then planned to take them to an animal rescue center.
He didn't know exactly how the puppies needed to be cared for, so he wanted to make sure he got them into the hands of someone more prepared for the situation.
Before he left to bring them to the shelter, Craig posted some pictures of the puppies on Facebook. His friends online quickly told him that the puppies weren't exactly what he expected.

Craig wrote on Facebook:
After a rubbish removal job, we unearthed a pile of rubbish and these little pups appeared in the rubbish.
We have taken them to an animal sanctuary so they have a chance to survive.
Wanting to do the best thing for the "puppies," he placed them in a container to bring them to a sanctuary.
When comments started rolling in on the Facebook post, though, Craig realized he may have bitten off more than he could chew.
Although they look like any other newborn puppies, they were actually baby foxes!
One woman, Beccie, saw Craig's post and immediately contacted the National Fox Welfare Society.
The National Fox Welfare Society explained:
At 11:55 a.m., we were contacted by a lovely lady called Beccie through our Facebook Page.
Beccie had sent a few photos asking if the babies in the photos were indeed fox cubs. We confirmed they were.
Beccie advised me that she would get the contact details of the guy who discovered the cubs and the rescue center that had taken them on.
While getting in contact with Craig, the Society also contacted Paul, "The Fox Man," to help reunite the fox cubs with their mama.
Paul agreed, and the animal sanctuary that had the fox cubs agreed that it would be best to see if they could find the mom.
Next, they contacted Karen, a woman who was in the area of the garden where the cubs were originally found.
The National Fox Welfare Society continued:
At 2:37 in the afternoon, Karen contacted me saying the vixen was in the garden looking for her babies.
I contacted Paul straight away to let him know, and Paul said he would get there as quickly as possible with the cubs.
At 4:02 Paul placed the fox cubs down in the garden, in a box with a blanket and a hot water bottle.
We knew the cubs would be hungry and this was done deliberately in the hope that they would start calling, out of hunger.
At 5:15 p.m., the fox mama had returned and found her cubs — by 7:00 she had taken them all with her to their new home.
It took so many people to reunite these cubs with their mom, and everyone cared so dearly for these little babies.
