Any time I see something in my house that needs a quick fix, I reach for one thing: duct tape. Still, I would have never thought to use it as a hack for the frustrating situation in the video below.
We've all struggled with stubborn jar lids before, but how many of you have reached for the handy adhesive to help you out?
I've used duct tape to patch everything from the pipes to my kitchen sink to the handles on my cabinets. And I am absolutely floored by how well it works for this simple trick, too!
There are other techniques for handling a jar lid that won't budge — like running it under warm water or grabbing a cloth to get some traction. But this is so much easier than both of those.
All you have to do is wrap a portion of the lid with the duct tape, then leave enough dangling to act as a handle. After that, you just need one good yank and you'll soon be enjoying whatever's inside!
It makes me wonder what other duct tape hacks I'm probably missing out on that could make my life less stressful.
