Going to a baseball or softball game can be very exciting, especially for fans of the sports. Seeing players from your favorite team in action is exhilarating — it's almost as if you were in the game yourself!
We all know every fan's dream is to catch a ball during the game. If you catch it, you can probably get it signed, and you can keep it as memorabilia.
That's almost what happened to one young fan at a University of Florida softball game in Gainesville, Florida. However, it seems that the boy was unaware that a rogue ball was hurtling toward him. Luckily, the school's alligator mascot, Albert, was sitting next to him!
Upon seeing the ball, the mascot raised his arms to shield the boy, avoiding a potentially serious accident. The ball ended up hitting the mascot instead. Right afterward, the playful mascot pretended to collapse in his chair.
When the boy realized what was happening, he jumped up to give Albert CPR! Of course, the young fan knew that Albert wasn't in any real trouble, though he still made all the others in the stands chuckle.
Albert later joked on Twitter that he was glad that the ball was a softball.
