Adam Sandler’s Daughters May Star In His Movies But They’re Still Typical Teenagers

Adam Sandler is a proud father of two daughters, making him a girl dad. It’s a good thing he works in comedy because Sadie is now 17 years old and Sunny is 15. Having two teen girls is no joke.

Sadie and Sunny often costar alongside their famous father in his film and television projects. Adam joked on the red carpet at the premiere of his latest movie, Spaceman, that this doesn’t mean his girls actually talk to him as they are just typical teens. He rolls with it.

A reporter asked Adam if he casts his daughters to force them to spend time with him. "They still don't talk to you,” he joked. “They go do their thing."

Adam broke it down further. "They do the best they can, and then they go do their life," he explained. "I am on the side going, 'Love you.' I say I love you a lot to them."

Spaceman tells the story of Jakub Prochazka, played by Adam, an astronaut who is sent on a solo mission to Jupiter. This is a good thing because it gets him away from his complicated life on Earth. Carey Mulligan, Kunal Nayyar, Isabella Rossellini, and Paul Dano also star in the film. Sunny plays Anna.

Adam shares Sunny and Sadie with wife Jackie Sandler, who is also an actress and model. It’s a family business of sorts. The whole gang starred together in the 2023 Netflix film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. Sunny and Sadie also recently voiced characters in the 2023 animated film Leo with Adam.

Adam and Jackie first met in 1999 on the set of Big Daddy. Jackie played a waitress in the film. Sparks flew and the pair started dating. Jackie even converted to Judaism for Adam.

They were married in Malibu, California, in 2003. Sadie was born three years later. In 2008, Sunny made her entrance into the world.

In 2018 Adam opened about how being a dad has changed him. "My kids give me the most joy, but there are life adjustments," Adam explained to the HuffPo. "I don't go out to meet anyone after 9:30 at night. I eat dinner at 6 or 7. If someone makes me stay out until 10:30 at night, I'm angry the entire next day because I'm exhausted."
