Armie Hammer Drops Out Of New Movie As Salacious Details From His Divorce And Affair Drop

Armie Hammer is having a bit of a moment.

Last year, the Social Network star surprised fans by announcing the end of his 13-year marriage to Elizabeth Chambers. He shared a photo of the couple on Instagram alongside a lengthy caption:

"Thirteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents. It has been an incredible journey, but together, we’ve decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage. As we enter into this next chapter, our children and relationship as co-parents and dear friends will remain our priority. We understand this news lends itself to public dialogue, but in the interest of our children and our family, we’re asking for privacy, compassion and love during this time."

In the months that have followed, Armie has been accused of abandoning his children in the Cayman Islands and, more salaciously, of engaging in numerous affairs with fans that are now all coming to light.

Armie and Elizabeth were in the Cayman Islands with their children last summer when they announced the split. The original plan seems to have been for everyone to ride out the health crisis there, but Armie decided to fly back to the United States instead. Sources close to the couple told People that Armie was meant to spend Thanksgiving with his children, but he seems to have opted not to.

The source shared that in the original plan, Armie "was supposed to fly to the Cayman Islands, quarantine and then spend Thanksgiving with the kids and his family, flying back to L.A. all together in mid December" but instead he "has since decided to back out."

Divorce documents obtained by The Blast also state that Armie and Elizabeth "elected to stay with their children temporarily in the Cayman Islands where the pandemic appeared to be under greater control."

The documents, which are part of Armie's petition for joint custody, go on to clarify that "Elizabeth and the children remain in the Cayman Islands and Armie has not seen the children in several months now."

After Elizabeth filed for divorce in July 2020, Armie reportedly "backed off so the kids could still attend school in person in the Grand Caymans and not be in front of screens. Everyone agreed that's what's best, especially with cases getting worse in the U.S."

Now it seems that Armie might have even more reasons to spend time away from his kids.

A woman has come forward with not-yet-verified claims that Armie sent her several messages that detailed various sexual experiences he wanted to engage in. Armie denies the claims.

"I'm not responding to these bull— claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic."

Someone who claims to be a friend of Armie's ex-wife has reportedly told the Daily Mail that Elizabeth is "shocked and saddened" by the messages, which detail fantasies including cannibalism, choking, and rape. The messages span the time between 2016 and 2020.

In a series of since-deleted tweets, a woman shared messages from someone who claimed Armie sent them to her. Once those messages were shared online, other women came forward to verify they had received their own messages from Armie.

The source who claims to be Elizabeth's friend went on to tell the Daily Mail, "A lot of these women have reached out to Elizabeth and although she didn't want to admit it to herself at first, she knows now they are speaking the truth. Armie had a whole other side to him that she wasn’t aware of. Whether it was always there and he kept it hidden, or something happened that changed him completely, she doesn't know."

One of the women who alleges involvement with Armie reportedly entered an "intense rehab and therapy program because of his emotional and maybe physical abuse."

The source also added, "He preyed upon her when she was coming out of a relationship. He made her feel very uncomfortable, the things he wanted to do made her very scared."

The woman behind one of the Twitter accounts that allegedly exposed the star told the Daily Mail why she released the messages. "Women approached me with their affair stories as we talked overwhelmed with grief for days and nights without sleeping or eating, with some ending up in the ER. We collectively decided we have to speak out after how we were treated and seeing how the women in 2020 were being treated by him. We cannot allow more women to endure what we are going through in the future."
