Previously, Ashley St. Clair suggested that after she welcomed a baby with Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO was hoping she would keep it a secret. He allegedly offered her $15 million and a monthly payment of $100,000. But when she wouldn’t sign an NDA and also took to social media to announce the birth of their child, the monthly payment reportedly decreased to $40,000.
In a lot of ways, Ashley has done the exact opposite of what Elon had wanted. Instead of staying quiet, she has since spoken out against Elon on multiple occasions and even appears in the documentary Musk, in which she alleges that the richest man in the world now pays her $20,000 a month.
All of this drama might make you wonder how their relationship even started in the first place.
Ashley is a former MAGA influencer who is only 28 years old. How did she end up welcoming a child with the 55-year-old Tesla CEO? After all, she has previously alleged that Elon doesn’t seem particularly invested in being part of their child’s life, even though they’re currently involved in an ongoing custody dispute.
In the documentary, Ashley revealed that their interactions started on social media. Because she was a conservative influencer at the time, Elon frequently engaged with her posts on X, the platform he owns. He reportedly reached out to her on Mother’s Day with a pretty wild (but seemingly on-brand) proposition.
“He was responding to my posts frequently,” Ashley said in the documentary, per People. “One day, he responded to one of my Mother’s Day posts [and said] that I should have more children.”
Apparently, he kept talking to her about having more kids and told her he was a “good dad.”
The conversations about having more children did not stop, which is something that Ashley has talked about before. She previously alleged that he sent her texts that read, “We do have a legion of kids to make,” and, “I want to knock you up again.”
In the documentary, Ashley made it sound like this was something Elon mentioned quite often. “He was always saying, ‘We should have a kid. You should have so many more kids. You should have 10 kids,'” she alleged.
Ashley admitted that Elon “was definitely strange” from the very beginning, but he also seemed “intelligent” and “down to earth.” Apparently, after they actually welcomed their child, something changed. “It was almost as if he didn’t show a certain side of himself until after I had our baby,” she said in the documentary.
Previously, Ashley alleged that Elon only met their child a handful of times and was not present when she gave birth. Now, Ashley and her son have reportedly been receiving less money from Elon.
She has said that she feels like Elon has been trying to punish her for talking about all of this.
The cuts to Elon’s payments to Ashley have been been reported before. She previously told the Daily Mail that she felt Elon was being “vindictive.” She also said, “That’s his modus operandi, when women speak out.”
Elon publicly responded to these claims on social media, writing that he gave Ashley $2.5 million, along with $500,000 annually. At the time, he also tried to say that he wasn’t certain that the child was his. Ashley pushed back on this, writing, “Elon, we asked you to confirm paternity through a test before our child (who you named) was even born. You refused. And you weren’t sending *me* money, you were sending support for your child that you thought was necessary…”
She also said Elon “withdrew most of (the money) to maintain control and punish me for ‘disobedience.’ But you’re really only punishing your son.”
In the documentary, Ashley explained that the payments Elon described in this message were not what she has actually received from him. If she had signed the NDA, she (presumably) would’ve received a lot more.
“The NDA that they had provided me was labeled as a child support agreement,” she said. “It was a lump sum of $15 million and then $100,000 a month for 20 years.”
