Bethenny Frankel Calls Out ‘Hostile’ Airport Behavior In Fiery Tirade

Air travel can be so stressful that many people feel pretty on edge at the airport. There are plenty of air travel horror stories out there, and Bethenny Frankel recently shared one of hers. While traveling with her teenage daughter Bryn, the Real Housewives of New York City alum felt the urge to fight with a woman who seemed overly “hostile.”

In a video shared via Instagram, Bethenny, 54, vented about the uncomfortable experience while still at the airport. She compared what happened to her to what often happens “on the road” as well.

“You know what my favorite thing is at the airport?” Bethenny said. “When you have to lean down to get something and there’s like — maybe you have to get your driver’s license — and there’s a big line, like a giant line, but you are four inches behind that person, and the person behind you decides to just plow past you just to get one spot ahead of you.”

Clearly frustrated that someone would try to “plow” past her just because she “made the big mistake of kneeling down to get [her] boarding pass,” Bethenny felt compelled to confront the woman. Perhaps the stressful experience of navigating an airport impacted her as well. “People are a little hostile, myself included,” she said.

So, Bethenny decided to say something to the woman. “Bryn looks over and I look over to the woman and I go, ‘Hi. Is everything OK?'” she said. “Like, she thought she was going to plow past me just because I made the big mistake of kneeling down to get my boarding pass. People are hostile at the airport, and once in a while, you’re like it’s that kinda morning, I’ll throw down.”

She continued with, “I go, ‘I will throw down.’ The woman is like, ‘Is that your bag?’ I’m like, ‘It is. Is everything OK? Are we gonna be OK?'”

In the comments, many fans could relate. Some saw the issue as part of a broader societal trend, while others blamed the stressful airport environment for the woman’s questionable behavior. “People have just lost all self awareness! They think they are the only one who matters!” one person argued. Another fan blamed airports, writing, “People leave their manners at the door when entering an airport.”

Others agreed that people do often act the same way when driving. “To get one person ahead 🤦🏻‍♀️. On the road – ugh! Driving like they are in F1. And we all end up at the same stop light,” another fan complained.

Fans also loved the way Bethenny chose to confront the woman. In the future, if faced with a similar situation, some of Bethenny’s fans said they’ll remember to say, “Hi … is everything OK?”
