Emily’s days were filled with providing routine care for the individuals who lived at the care home where she worked. Behind those tender moments between staff and residents laid a truth that, once revealed, would change everything.
Emily was a seemingly caring nursing home worker. Over the years, she found it easy to develop special relationships with a lot of the residents. She especially took to a resident who was lovingly referred to as Grandma Thompson by a lot of the staff.
The relationship she had developed with Grandma Thompson went beyond professional. Anyone who watched Emily and the senior resident together could sense that there was a bond between these two women, but was it one that was filled with kindness or something darker?
Grandma Thompson’s daughter, Rachel, never wanted her mom to live in a care home, but when she started to see her mom physically deteriorate, she knew she had no choice. Rachel looked into several nursing homes in search of a care home that delivered not only excellent care but also seemed like a serene and cozy place to live.
When Rachel finally decided on the place she felt comfortable with, and she arrived with Grandma Thompson to move her in, they met a care worker named Emily. In the weeks that followed, Rachel kept a close eye on Emily’s interactions with her mother and although everything appeared to be going fine, Rachel started to get an odd feeling in the pit of her stomach.

The nagging sense of unease started to eat away at Rachel. She decided to request access to the care home’s security footage. She wasn’t exactly sure what she was looking for, but when she turned on a video and saw her mother in her room alone with Emily in the middle of the night, she was shocked.
