Cher Admits She’s Never Hated Anyone Like She Hates Donald Trump

It's no secret that Donald Trump has been a controversial president. By far, he's stirred up more emotional reactions than any other president who came before him. In fact, he might be the most controversial person there ever was.

And it seems like there is no in between whatsoever when it comes to how people feel about Trump. They either love him and support him no matter what he says or does or they can't stand him. As for those who dislike him, Cher is first in line. The singer recently talked about her intense distaste for the president and even used the word "hate," which she says is not exactly something she has ever felt for another human before.

Cher is definitely not alone in her feelings. His easily disprovable claims, constant backing away from science while he had the opportunity to save hundreds of thousands of lives, and offensive language directed at nearly every minority group imaginable has caused many to feel similarly. But we rarely hear a celebrity speak so openly about hating a president. Even Trump.

Still, Cher has always been outspoken. And she doesn't shy away from the political, either. She's happy to support causes she cares about, and on the flip side, she's also up-front about what ails her. Trump, it seems, is No. 1 on that list.

It seems like when it comes to the president, Cher isn't much for biting her tongue. In a recent interview, she really came out strong against Trump, saying he's changed the culture in the United States. That much is certainly true. What people disagree on is whether that's a good thing or a terrible one. It's not hard to know where Cher stands.

“It’s toxic,” she told The Guardian. “People who just disagreed with each other before are now enemies. I hate to even call him a president because all he does is watch TV.”

Cher has also been clear about the fact that she supports President-elect Joe Biden. She even recorded a new song for his campaign. It's fittingly called "Happiness Is a Cup of Joe," a revamped song from the musical Cabin in the Sky.

She continued, talking about how she imagined Trump would respond to having to leave the White House. “I said if Trump can’t be in the White House, he’s going to burn it down. He’s trying to block Joe at every moment. He’s the most vindictive person I’ve ever witnessed. I think he’s fighting so hard because he’s going to be prosecuted when he gets out of the White House.”

Many people simply don't want to hear the name "Donald Trump" ever again once his first and only term is over. But Cher does. She wants to hear that he's sitting in a jail cell. When asked if he could end up there, she responded, "Oh, I hope so. I'll be dancing around."

It seems unlikely that the president could end up behind bars, simply because he has so much power. But that might not always be true. There are a number of major lawsuits and criminal investigations Trump could face once his protected status is a thing of the past. Cher has an interesting take. She said, "I think he’s fighting so hard because he’s going to be prosecuted when he gets out of the White House."

In no unclear terms, Cher spoke directly about how she feels about the president. “I hate him,” she said, which isn't a feeling she's ever had before. “I pretty much disliked Bush when he started those wars," she said. "And I could say for a minute it was touch and go for hate. But the one thing I know is he loves America and Trump doesn’t.”

Well, at least we know where she stands! And honestly, it's a bit refreshing that she's so incredibly outspoken about how she feels. She's definitely not alone, either. There are tons of people who believe that Trump should go to prison for a great number of crimes. We just don't often hear celebrities get so outspoken about politicians for fear they will lose fans if they do.

Cher definitely believes that there are more important things at stake. Like, ya know, the fate of the entire world. With Biden being elected the next president, Cher has got to be feeling relieved.

Surely, she believes in life after Trump.
