Child Brings Everyone To Tears After Begging His Mom To Buy A Homeless Man Dinner

A child’s capacity for empathy and wanting to help others is often so unparalleled that most adults could stop and take notes.

Josiah Duncan and his mother, Ava Faulk, spent the day together in Prattville, Alabama. A seemingly normal day that ended up with a meal at one of their favorite restaurants would end in a way that neither of them could have imagined.

According to WFSA 12, the mother and son were dining at the Waffle House located at the Prattville-Millbrook exit when 5-year-old Josiah spotted an unhoused gentleman standing outside the restaurant.

The news outlet reports that when Josiah saw the man standing outside the Waffle House, he began to ask his mother about him and she explained to her son that he was likely homeless. In an email that Faulk wrote to WFSA 12, she shared that young Josiah had a series of tough questions for her which included where the man kept his groceries.

When Josiah learned that the man standing outside the restaurant that day likely didn’t have a home or a kitchen of his own to keep and make meals, he insisted that his mother buy him a meal.

When the gentleman came inside, Faulk recalls that no one really went up to his table to take his order, so Josiah ran up to him, handed him a menu and told him that he couldn’t order without one.
