Teen Wears Claw Clip While Driving But It Ends Up Giving Her 5 Staples In The Head

The claw clip has been a very dependable hair accessory for years now. If you are in the middle of something and need to pull your hair up quickly — claw clip. If you want to pull your hair up without causing a dent in your hair — claw clip. It’s also useful for a cute laid-back updo look. A claw clip is my most-used hair accessory, but this story has me thinking twice about wearing it everywhere I go.

Inside Edition shared a video about an 18-year-old girl, Paisley Riley, who has been publicly warning people about the dangers of wearing a claw clip when you are driving. Paisley was riding in an all-terrain vehicle when it flipped over.

To her surprise, when she hit her head during the accident, her claw clip is what caused the damage. Inside Edition showed a picture of Paisley in the hospital, and you can see the damage that was done. You honestly wouldn’t think twice about a piece of plastic that holds up your hair, but this picture proves why you should.

Paisley is sitting in a hospital bed. The expression on her face is nothing but pain, and the back of her hair is a matted, bloodied mess. Paisley has her mom help her show Inside Edition in an interview where the gash on her head is. She still has five staples in her head where the claw clip injured her.

Paisley and her mother are asked, “Would you ever have thought that something like this could happen with a hair clip?” They both replied never, as would any claw clip enthusiast. Paisley posted her video on TikTok, where it has gotten up to 59 million views.

After Paisley’s warning went viral, it caused other women to join her in expressing the dangers of wearing a claw clip while driving. Audra Fordham, the owner of Women Auto Know in New York, was asked for her advice, and she said, “Put it on top of your head so that your hair and your hair clip do not make contact with your headrest.”

Being the claw-clip-loving person I am, I will definitely be taking Audra’s advice next time I drive with a claw clip in my hair. Take note, ladies!
