Cop Who Tearfully Accused McDonald’s Of Withholding Her McMuffin Doesn’t Want Sympathy

Stacy Talbert, a sheriff's deputy from Georgia, went viral in 2020 after her trip to the McDonald's drive-thru went awry.

In a clip she posted to Facebook Live, Talbert had just gone to pick up her mobile breakfast order after finishing her overnight shift.

She'd ordered a coffee, an Egg McMuffin, and an order of hash browns. But when she went through the drive-thru to pick it up, her food was not yet ready.

Instead, an employee told her to pull over to the side and eventually came out with her coffee.

"And I'm waiting. And I'm waiting. And I'm waiting," Talbert said in her video. "That's all she hands me is the coffee."

She continued, with tears in her eyes …

"Don't bother with the food because right now I'm too nervous to take it! It doesn't matter how many hours I've been up. It doesn't matter what I've done for anyone. Right now, I'm too nervous to take a meal from McDonald's because I can't see it being made!"

Talbert received backlash for suggesting her order was intentionally delayed by the staff, and for having too much of an emotional reaction for someone who holds so much responsibility.

One concerned commenter wrote, "this person … having a mental breakdown over a mcmuffin … is allowed to carry a pistol everyday and use it whenever they deem it necessary."

Talbert is responded to the criticism, saying it's not sympathy she wants.
