Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 50 years, you’re probably well aware of what a musical talent movie legend Dick Van Dyke is. The 97-year-old starred in several classic musicals back in the day, including Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Bye Bye Birdie.
This video posted on YouTube by the SportTV Star channel discusses a post the star shared on his personal Instagram page, which showcased video footage of Dick taking his first ukulele lesson.
The star can be seen sitting in an armchair in casual clothing as he holds a ukulele in his hands while strumming a few notes. In his class with Melanie Kareem, he is sitting next to another student who has a big smile on his face.
You might think that the movie musical legend would pick up on this tiny string instrument rather effortlessly, but in the footage, Dick can be seen solidly concentrating and looking up to ask “Where’s the F, quick!”
Dick’s life has certainly not slowed down in his golden years as in 2021, he was included in the Kennedy Center Honorees list for his seven-decade career in film and Broadway, which has earned him five Emmy awards as well as a Tony, Grammy, and even induction into the Television Hall of Fame.
