Amid concerns about President Donald Trump’s health and cognitive decline, he bragged about “acing” several cognitive tests at a North Carolina event. During his speech on Friday, December 19, the 79-year-old president said he took “cognitive tests” that were “not easy.” He implied that he did this to be transparent and because he hates “false reports” about his health.
While boasting about his impressive cognitive test results, he provided an example of one of the questions he was asked.
He bragged that “no other president’s ever” taken these tests.
Of course, he also shared his theory on whether or not former president Joe Biden could’ve answered the questions.
“You get to those last questions, those last 10, 15 questions… nobody in that stand could answer probably any of them,” Trump said. “And I got them. I aced them. And no other president’s taken a cog–… Could you imagine sleepy Joe taking a cognitive test?”
He was asked to identify animals.
Interestingly, though Trump told the audience that the tests are difficult, the example question he mentioned during his speech was about looking at images and identifying animals. “The first question is like, ‘What is this?’ And they show a lion, a giraffe, a fish, and a hippopotamus. And they say, ‘Which is the giraffe?'” Trump recalled.
Trump claimed that the test “gets harder” after the first question. But he said he didn’t think Biden would’ve been able to get past the first one. “I don’t think Joe would have gotten the first question right,” Trump said. “He would say hippo. ‘I want the hippo.'”
Perhaps realizing he had gone off on a tangent, he continued with, “But anyway…” and said he’s taken three cognitive tests now. “I’ve aced every single one of them,” he claimed.
Trump said his health is “perfect.”
According to Trump, “fake news” reporters don’t really care when he does well on these exams. “Can you imagine if I did badly?” he said. He went on to suggest that journalists don’t understand his “perfect” health reports. “The fake news interprets when the doctor says, ‘He’s got perfect health,’ they go, ‘What does he mean by perfect? There’s something wrong with the president.’ These people are sick.”
People aren’t sure that Trump should be bragging about these tests though. “Talking about how your doctors keep giving you cognitive tests is not the brag he seems to think it is, lol,” one person wrote on Reddit. While he “managed to pick the elephant vs the hippo,” people have been wondering why Trump has taken so many cognitive tests to begin with.
Regardless of whether it’s really a positive thing, people still didn’t appreciate how much he boasted about it. “How pathetic and tacky it is that he needs to try and brag about literally everything if he thinks it’s positive,” another critic said.
