Throughout his political career, President Donald Trump has been known to hand out a nickname or two. For example, in the summer of 2025, he started calling California Governor Gavin Newsom, “Gavin Newscum” on Truth Social. Unsurprisingly, people have started to fire back and Trump has earned a few nicknames of his own.
The first was TACO — short for Trump Always Chickens Out — earned for his habit of announcing tariffs and then not following through on them. And when it seemed like he’d fallen asleep visiting the Saudi royal family, and later during his own military parade, he was branded with the name “Don Snoreleone.”
Then in June, one of his activist George Conway, one of Trump’s most vocal opponents, shared a nasty new nickname for the embattled president.
“@realDonaldTrump tried to play Kim Jun Un for an afternoon,” Conway wrote on X along with a photo of Trump at his military parade. “But he’s still just Kim Jon Loon.”

Of course, people on social media had a field day with it.
“All hail Kim Jong Loon!” one person posted on X. And there were lots of others on the social media site who jumped in with similarly sarcastic comments.
“You are a Kim Jong Bafoon. Loser,” another person wrote. “He’s just a sad old man who looks like he needs a nap,” someone else commented. “Don Jong Balloon,” another person suggested.
Naturally, people also replied with a slew of comedic gifs and clips. We wouldn’t be surprised at all if Trump got wind of the new nickname and retaliates.
