Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend, Bettina Anderson, is sticking up for her boyfriend. In response to a recent New York magazine article, Bettina, took to her Instagram Stories and insinuated that those who are critical of Don Jr. are simply “haters.” For the New York magazine article, an insider spoke to journalist Nina Burleigh about Donald Trump Jr.
The insider didn’t just refer to Don Jr. as a “spoiled heir” and an “a–hole” — they also called him “the most despised member of the [Trump] family.” Clearly, Bettina was not happy about this portrayal, as she criticized the article in a series of posts to her Instagram Stories.
In one post, Bettina shared one of the Trump insider’s quotes: “Junior is the most despised member of the family; he’s an a–hole, a spoiled heir.” Over the post, Bettina wrote, “That’s my guy!” She went on to imply that the insider was not a good source of information. “DEFINITELY an ‘insider’ VERY familiar with Donald Trump Jr,” she wrote, adding a couple of laughing emojis.
In one of her posts, she also wrote that “rumors are started by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots,” per the Daily Mail. To make her stance clear, she went on to praise her boyfriend, calling him the “finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful and brilliant person.”
Donald Trump Jr. also took to his Instagram Stories to defend himself. In his post, he criticized anonymous sources. “There’s no wonder why these ‘sources’ are always anonymous,” he wrote. “Man up, put your name to it, but we know you [won’t] because you’re cowards.”
He also admitted that he “can totally be an a–hole.” He said that is only “when I need to be … if you’re adversarial to my friends, my family, my country, MAGA, etc.” However, those who are close to him don’t see him that way, he assured his followers. “I think you’d be hard pressed to find a regular person who actually knows me that thinks that,” he wrote.
Prior to dating Bettina, Don Jr. was engaged to former prosecutor and Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle. They had started dating in 2018. Before that, he and Vanessa Trump were married for 12 years. Vanessa is now dating professional golfer Tiger Woods. Her ex-husband is reportedly “cool” with their relationship.
