President Donald Trump spent more than 10 hours on Sunday posting dozens of apparently AI-generated images on Truth Social, along with unverified assertions that his investment decisions had earned the United States hundreds of billions of dollars across stocks and other holdings, according to CNBC.
In one AI image, Trump is shown at a desk surrounded by stock market monitors, accompanied by the caption: “I do this for our Country, not myself. I’ve made Hundreds of Billions of Dollars on Stocks, and many other type Holdings, for the U.S.A., not myself, and all I do is get criticized by the Radical Left Dumocrats. Very unfair, but what can you do!” No supporting evidence was provided for the claim, according to CNBC. The Trump administration took a 10% stake in semiconductor company Intel in August 2025, which is now worth over $50 billion.
The images ranged from action-hero depictions of Trump to geopolitical claims. Several showed Iran being destroyed, including one featuring explosions at Kharg Island captioned “Bye bye, Kharg,” and another of Trump swinging an American-flag-themed hammer at a map of Iran. Others portrayed him in roles including a wrestler draped in the American flag and a Space Force commander. One image depicted actor Robert De Niro holding a shirt reading “Trump is my president.”
Trump also posted AI images advancing territorial claims. One image designated the Strait of Hormuz a “new U.S. Territory,” a second rechristened New Mexico as “New America,” and a third applied the label “Lake America” to Lake Ontario, the waterway shared by the U.S. and Canada. The Moon appeared in another post captioned “The Moon is Ours.” The Lake Ontario post followed an executive order Trump signed directing the federal government to rename the lake “Lake America.” Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney pushed back on the renaming, stating that his country had no intention of abandoning the lake’s original name.
Analysts have warned against drawing firm conclusions about Iran’s imminent economic collapse, even as its GDP is thought to have shrunk under wartime pressure and inflation has surged to levels not previously recorded. It has now been over six months since U.S. and Israeli forces began what they described as major combat operations in Iran, and as of Monday there was little sign that either side was moving toward renewed negotiations.
Sunday’s posting spree comes amid broader scrutiny of Trump’s Truth Social activity. The Intercept Media and the Freedom of the Press Foundation filed a lawsuit last month seeking to block Truth API, a Trump Media service that sells subscribers faster access to Trump’s Truth Social posts for up to $100,000 per month, arguing the arrangement violates the First and Fifth Amendments.
U.S. Senators also urged the Securities and Exchange Commission in July to investigate whether the service violates federal securities law. The White House did not respond to a request for comment about Sunday’s posts.
