Drew Barrymore is showing off her new and unique kitchen renovations, just one years after posting a viral video of her destroying the space with a hammer. The 48-year-old actress gave fans a behind-the-scenes look into her newly designed space in the Fall 2023 issue of her lifestyle magazine, Drew.
The photos shared of the kitchen renovations show that the space really encapsulates an essence of Italy. She described the transformation process of redesigning her kitchen into what she calls her "take on the anti-white, modern kitchen."
Drew explained that she took photos of the NYC subway as inspiration for the kitchen ceiling. She also traveled to Italy to handpick paintings and art pieces to hang on the walls.
Her kitchen now has a rustic feel, with rough-textured walls, exposed pipes, and an earth-toned color palette. "I exposed every darn pipe and got an extra 2 feet of ceiling by doing so," she said.

The actress was honest about how overwhelming the renovation process was. "I felt very intimidated the whole way through. It looked like a construction site even as it was coming together. My daughter Olive thought I had lost my mind," she said. "But I was nail-biting to the end. Had I gone too far? Was I even smart enough to pull this off?" But in the end, she did, and it looks absolutely beautiful.
