Eric Trump recently took to social media to boast about his “amazing weekend,” but his followers immediately noticed that something seemed… off. Some of the details in one of the photos are quite bizarre, especially when you zoom in.
Eric spent some time at his dad’s Bedminster golf club in New Jersey over the weekend. His children were there too, but critics aren’t convinced they actually spent time with their grandfather, given that the group photo Eric shared looks altered.
Some odd details in the photo make it look like AI slop.
Eric took to Instagram to share a series of photos, which he captioned with, “What an amazing weekend @trumpgolfbedminster! @livgolfleague”
In the comments, people had a lot to say about the second picture, which showed Eric’s two children, Eric “Luke” Trump and Carolina Trump, standing beside President Donald Trump.
They noticed several weird details in the image that made them suspect Eric had used AI. For one, people noticed someone else’s leg behind Luke. There are also strange blurry spots behind the president’s ear and Luke’s ear. Then, in the background, there’s another part of the image that looks totally blurred and unclear. On X, an account called PatriotTakes shared some zoomed-in sections of the photo to highlight the apparent mistakes.
“Look closely, especially around the kids, and you’ll see all sorts of oddities in this picture,” one person commented. “It looks like he’s missing an ear,” another person wrote, referring to the president.

Commenting on his Instagram post, someone wrote, “What in the AI-slop hell is that second picture?” And another commenter said, “The pic with the kids is AI.” Though the photo does appear to be altered, it’s unclear why Eric felt compelled to do this. And people found it pathetic, actually.
“Needing to make AI pictures of your father with your children is so, so sad,” a third critic added. But some critics were not exactly surprised. “They do live on an altered state of reality so not surprising that they alter their family photos,” someone else said.
Still, people questioned why Eric didn’t edit the photo to make it look better.

You would think that if you were going to go through the trouble of altering a photo before posting it, you would at least check for glaring mistakes. And yet… this particular editing fail is quite obvious.
The Trump family and others in the president’s circle appear to love AI. So, naturally, some people questioned why Eric isn’t better at using it.
“Either try harder or get a professional AI person to do this,” someone advised on X. “They need to get someone better to do the AI renditions – they have the $$ to pay someone to do it right,” another critic argued.
However, some people weren’t totally convinced that the image was AI slop. The president regularly posts AI-generated content of himself, and much of it makes him look younger and more muscular. The fact that this photo looked so bad made some critics have doubts.
One person argued that Trump normally “looks way younger and faker” in the photos he shares. “I think AI would make him look better than that,” they said.
Regardless, people found the image embarrassing. Did he really not look at his photos before posting them for everyone to see?
