Travel Agent Says One Celebrity Request Was For A ‘Medium-Sized Dog’ In Every Hotel Room

Pets make great companions — but one celebrity in particular isn't really interested in being a pet parent. However, they still want the companionship a pet can provide, so they request a "medium-sized dog" in every hotel they stay at, elite travel agent Rob DelliBovi revealed.

Speaking on Joe Pardavila’s Good Listen podcast on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, DelliBovi said the "medium-sized dog" request is probably the “most unusual” request he's gotten.

Finding a dog to spend time with the celeb in each city isn't exactly an easy task.

How does DelliBovi, who runs RDB Hospitality, go about finding dogs to stay with the star? He admitted that they will first check with hotel staff.

“We’re like, 'Does anyone have a dog they want to loan this talent for one or two nights?'” he revealed.

But if no hotel staff members are willing to spend a night or two without their pets, they will contact local shelters.

The size requirements make the challenge even more difficult. "There was a time when we were sourcing a dog in every city of medium size too, which is what they wanted. So, nothing too big, nothing too small," he explained.

Though DelliBovi did not reveal the name of the celebrity with this particular request, he did suggest that the dog lover is a musician.

“On music tours, they don’t typically stay very long," DelliBovi pointed out.

Because the celebrity makes some quick stops in some areas — sometimes just a few hours — the dogs aren't needed for long. "We have to be super creative," he said.

You might wonder: Why doesn't this star just adopt a dog if they love dogs so much?

That would be too much work. As DelliBovi put it, traveling with a dog is a "pain in the neck," so instead, this celeb likes to "request a medium-sized dog in all hotel rooms."

"When this particular traveler gets to town, they need a dog, and they don’t want to own a dog. They don’t want to travel with a dog … They want the companionship of a dog," DelliBovi explained.
