Costco Sells Couch For Over $1200 To Outraged Customers: ‘Ikea Makes That Better’

Many things have the internet divided these days, but who would have guessed that a piece of furniture would become one of them?! A Costco sofa has turned the internet inside out in an uproar over its expensive price. The Thomasville Marion Fabric Convertible Sofa is priced at $1,299.99 on the Costco website.

The price entails "delivery, setup, and packaging removal." It features a hidden trundle that can be pulled out from under the couch as an additional extension to the furniture.

In a TikTok video posted by @thatfunrealtor, a woman is seen looking over the features of the Costco couch. An older couple is standing off to the side, seemingly invested into what's going on.

In a different TikTok, the woman who had filmed the original video said that she was simply trying to help her friend "sell" the couch to her husband. The woman then also shared the video to TikTok, which is when it went viral.

The video got over 34.1 million views and more than 2 million likes. The older couple was heard asking the women, "How does it feel?" in relation to the couch.

“Pretty sure Costco sold out of these after this demo,” @thatfunrealtor captioned the TikTok. While she put on a pretty good showcase, many people in the comments debated that the price for the couch was too high and similar ones for a cheaper price could be found elsewhere.

"IKEA makes that better," someone commented. "Not a new concept."

"IKEA has had a better version of this for a decade and it’s half the price," someone else stated.

Other people responded with more positive comments.

One person commented: "The older couple staring … love it! Just like my mom and dad ."

"I need this in my life, got lots of loving babies ," another user wrote.

Some users commented on the sofa's comfort level.

"It’s hard as a brick," one user stated.

"I have this exact couch and it’s so not comfortable LMAO," another person shared.

And many other users questioned why there was so much excitement around the couch in general.

"Why does it have 1.3 million views? ," someone asked.

Someone else stated, "This is not a new concept and these are literally so uncomfortable to sleep on ."
