In the middle of a live broadcast of a rally by former President Donald Trump in Iowa, a Fox News anchor cut the him off to assert that some of Trump's claims were untrue. Fox News anchor Arthel Neville accused Trump of "many untruths." “The 2020 election was not rigged. It was not stolen," she said. She added that despite this, Trump is still the current Republican frontrunner. She noted that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is "desperately trying to catch" up, and showed DeSantis' Iowa rally.
This comes after Dominion Voting Systems previously filed a lawsuit against Fox News over the network's false claims about Dominion’s voting machines being rigged against Trump during the 2020 election. Fox News settled the lawsuit in April, agreeing to pay Dominion Voting Systems $787 million.
“The truth matters. Lies have consequences,” said Dominion lawyer Justin Nelson after the settlement, as reported by the Associated Press. "Today’s settlement of $787,500,000 represents vindication and accountability."

Fox admitted to “the court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false" in a statement, Deadline reported. The CEO of Dominion, John Poulos, also stated that the network admitted to "telling lies about Dominion."
Voting technology company Smartmatic has also filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News.
Some praised Fox News for "admitting that Trump is a liar," but some questioned the network's motives, given the defamation lawsuits.
"Fox News was fine with letting Trump and their anchors tell Trump's lies…until they started getting sued for lying," one person wrote on X.
Some Trump supporters, however, were not happy with the coverage. One X user shared that they are "boycotting" Fox News and "voting for Trump."
"Fox News has completely fallen off… it's unwatchable," one X user wrote, sharing an article about Trump's rally being cut off during the Fox News broadcast.
Though many were suspicious of Fox News changing its approach to Trump after the defamation lawsuits, Trump himself has been critical of some Fox News anchors, including Arthel Neville, for years.
In 2019, he tweeted, "Were @FoxNews weekend anchors, @ArthelNeville and @LelandVittert, trained by CNN prior to their ratings collapse? In any event, that’s where they should be working, along with their lowest rated anchor, Shepard Smith!"
While some thanked Arthel for her "courage" after calling Trump out on-air, others were critical of her and said that they were enjoying watching Trump's speech before she cut him off.
