What to Know
An apparent supporter of President Donald Trump recently asserted that Frank Sinatra would’ve supported the current president as well, but his daughter is setting the record straight. Nancy Sinatra, 85, has made it very clear that she does not support Trump, but given that her father did support some Republicans in his lifetime, including Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon, some people have wondered how he would’ve felt about Trump.
According to Nancy, this is not something anyone really has to wonder about because her dad clearly hated Trump.
The topic came up in response to one of her political posts.
A quick scroll through Nancy’s X posts makes it evident that she does not support the current president. But for some reason, when she recently called the Trump administration out, one of his supporters felt inclined to tell Nancy that her father would’ve disagreed with her. Reacting to a video about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in New Orleans, Nancy wrote, “This is not my father’s America. He would be devastated. trump is so wrong in so may ways.”
In response, a random X user told Nancy: “Your Dad would have loved Trump.” But she told the X user that they were very, very wrong about this assumption.
According to Nancy, her dad ‘loathed’ Trump.
And she thinks this should be pretty obvious at this point. As she explained in her succinct response, Frank’s feelings about Trump were not a secret. He knew Trump, and he hated him. “Do some homework before you make a fool of yourself,” Nancy wrote back. “My dad LOATHED trump.”
Though that particular X user didn’t seem to know this about Frank, others on social media did. Nancy wasn’t the only one who corrected that person’s claim. “Incorrect,” someone else wrote. “They knew each other, & Sinatra *despised* Donald.” Another person simply wrote, “Yeah…no,” and shared an article about an unpleasant interaction Frank had with Trump in the past.

Frank’s manager, Eliot Weisman, wrote about it in his book, The Way it Was: My Life with Frank Sinatra, claiming that Frank once told Trump to “go f— himself.”
Additionally, Mia Farrow, who was once married to Frank, previously asserted that “Frank Sinatra would have loathed Donald Trump.” Nancy replied to let Mia know that he actually did hate Trump.
Nancy’s recent response went viral.

One anti-Trump X account shared Nancy’s response and wrote, “Singer Nancy Sinatra’s response to MAGA asserting her father, Frank Sinatra, would have been a Trump supporter: ‘Do some homework before you make a fool of yourself. My dad LOATHED Trump.’ RETWEET if you stand with @NancySinatra against Trump!”
Even Nancy reposted it, just in case her stance wasn’t already clear.
