Kayla Rose was a 17-year-old high schooler living in Irvington, New Jersey, with her parents. The teenager led a quiet and happy life and was on the cusp of finishing high school as she prepared to enter Ohio University where she wanted to pursue a law degree.
All of her teachers adored her as not only was she an excellent student, but she was also an individual who possessed high moral character and never shied away from helping out a classmate who was in need.
According to ABC 7 News, Kayla Rose was walking her dog on a Thursday morning before school when she heard a strange noise coming from a parked car. Kayla listened closely and heard “knocking and scratching on the trunk of the car” and she immediately backed up because she was frightened.
The news outlet reports that after she listened again for more noises coming from the trunk of the car, she decided to say, “Hello,” and was met with a man’s voice who said something like, “Hello, can anybody help me?”
