‘The Bachelor’ Launches ‘Golden Bachelor’ Series Starring Single People 60 Years And Older

ABC has announced that the newest spin-off of its popular Bachelor franchise will debut in the fall of 2023. Golden Bachelor will bring together a group of contestants who are all age 60 or older and who are all looking for love.

The show is part of the network's "strike-proof" lineup for the season, as the Writers Guild of America strike will likely continue to impact production.

ABC first began planning for a version of Golden Bachelor in 2020, but those plans were ultimately stalled by the pandemic. The network put out a renewed casting call for the show in early 2023.

The show's description reads, "After more than 20 years of fostering young love on The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, The Golden Bachelor showcases a whole new kind of love story — one for the golden years. On this all-new unscripted series, one hopeless romantic is given a second chance at love in the search for a partner with whom to share the sunset years of life."

It continues, "The women arriving at the mansion have a lifetime of experience, living through love, loss and laughter, hoping for a spark that ignites a future full of endless possibilities. In the end, will our Golden man turn the page to start a new chapter with the woman of his dreams?"
