Time flies when you are a parent. Heather Rae and Tarek El Moussa know this firsthand as their son Tristan just turned 1 year old. To celebrate, the proud parents threw an under-the-sea party.
Heather and Tarek shared photos of the big day on her Instagram account. It was a party that would make Ariel proud. There were cupcakes, whales, personalized lollipops, and more.
The party was an intimate gathering of family and a few friends. Heather and Tarek had originally planned a big bash but decided against it because they wanted to enjoy the special day and not be stressed. That is totally understandable.
“Tristan’s ONEder the sea birthday party was perfect in every way. Our hearts are so full. ☺️,” the couple captioned their carousel of photos. They seem to be happy with their decision to keep it small.

The photos showed sweet family moments. Tristan had a blue cake complete with tropical fish and coral details. There were also plenty of fishy friends in the decorations.
Heather and Tarek have a blended family. Tristan is the only child they share, but Tarek has two children from a previous marriage, Brayden, 8, and Taylor, 13. Heather takes her role as a stepmother seriously and loves them as if they were her own.
“I’ve been a staple in their lives for a long time. And I worked really hard to have a strong relationship with them from the very beginning and be a good stepmom to them and their happiness is so important to me,” the Selling Sunset star told Us Weekly in 2023.
Some people have called Heather out for not sharing the older kids on social media as much as she shares Tristan. She responded to the haters. “I don’t favor any of the children more than the others. They’re all important to me and I love them so much. And I wouldn’t be a mommy if I didn’t have Taylor and Brayden,” she explained. “The truth is we have them 50 percent of the time and I don’t see them as much. And when we have them, we are busy. I’m not thinking about taking photos and videos … we have sports, we have tutoring, we have a strict bedtime.”
Everyone in the family was happy to celebrate Tristan's big day.
