Hilaria Baldwin Jokes About ‘Controlling’ Husband Alec But Critics Don’t Find It Funny

Critics didn’t love the way Hilaria Baldwin interacted with her husband, Alec Baldwin, during an interview in March 2025. When Alec interrupted Hilaria during the controversial Extra interview, she interjected with, “Oh my God, when I’m talking, you’re not talking. No, when I’m talking, you’re not talking.” After seeing the uncomfortable moment, some people called Hilaria “rude,” “horrible,” and “controlling.”

In a recent Instagram post, Hilaria joked that the critics gave her an idea. The video shared by both Hilaria and Alec shows Hilaria controlling him like he’s a puppet as “When You Wish Upon a Star” plays in the background, an apparent reference to the Disney film Pinocchio.

In the video, Hilaria stood on a chair above Alec and held kitchen utensils, acting as though the utensils were being used to control Alec’s movements. “Well, you guys gave me the idea. I just HAD to try it out 🥰,” she captioned the post.

Some fans loved the couple’s humorous response to the criticism they’ve faced.

“Very funny both of you, you are great couple and family,” one fan commented on the post.

A second wrote, “You must laugh all day!”

However, others were not impressed and accused the couple of joking about “the truth.”

“I GUESS JOKING ABOUT THE TRUTH – IS FUNNY!!!!!” one person wrote.

A second critic said, “There is always some truth behind a joke lol.”

A few others suggested that Hilaria was humiliating her husband. “U turned ur husband into a joke,” one person pointed out.

“I don’t know what’s the message here but It wasn’t nice the way you talked to him on that interview!” another critic stated. “It wasn’t funny then & it’s not funny now.”

Hilaria and Alec’s followers also had very mixed reactions to their childlike sense of humor. To some, it seemed quite wholesome.

“They know how to have fun together, reason why they have seven kids,” one fan speculated.

However, others found the joke pretty off-putting. “So sad to act back like children,” one critic commented.

Another wondered how Hilaria and Alec seemed to have so much time to record videos when they share seven children. “Have these two lost their minds?” they questioned before urging them to “go take [care] of your seven kids.”
