Ivanka Trump’s social media posts have obviously been getting to people. When she posts about her travels or her event appearances, a lot of people feel like she’s flaunting her wealth and privilege amid her father’s presidency. Now, though, her posts are getting attention for an additional reason: some people have been wondering whether Ivanka has plans to get involved in politics again.
After serving as a senior advisor to her father, President Donald Trump, during his first term, she announced that she was stepping back from politics in 2022.
She has said that she wants to focus on her private life.
In 2022, Ivanka wrote, “I love my father very much. This time around I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics. While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena. I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and I will always be proud of many of our Administration’s accomplishments.”
Later, she explained that she wanted to prioritize her family. Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, share three children.
Her experience showed her that working in politics was too difficult for her and her family. “I know that you can’t dabble, and I know that my children really need me there for them,” she told podcaster David Senra.
Her kids are her priority.
At the end of the day, leaving politics was “very easy” for Ivanka because the decision aligned with her “core values.” She explained, “My highest, most core value is family… My primary goals were just to be the best freaking mom I could be.”
She has also described the world of politics as “a very dark, negative business.” But her recent social media posts have some people convinced that she’s planning on getting involved once again in spite of it all.
Because her posts don’t seem very private.
It’s hard for people to believe Ivanka’s claims that she wishes to focus on her private life when she shares so much on her public social media accounts. If she truly wanted to lie low, perhaps she would take inspiration from her half-brother Barron Trump and stop sharing details about her life with everyone online.
However, sources close to Ivanka claim that her semi-frequent social media updates have nothing to do with any political aspirations or future plans. Instead, they’ve described her social media habits as very intentional.
“The key to understanding Ivanka’s Instagram is that she’s not posting photos in real time,” someone close to her told the Daily Mail. “Ivanka’s far more private, and she’s just posting a periodic photo dump.”
Of course, that doesn’t explain why she’s sharing photo dumps in the first place — especially given that they almost always spark backlash. But another friend close to Ivanka called her behavior “admirable.” Somehow, she was able to leave “all the power” behind, according to the source. “She just wants to be there for her family,” they said.
