It's very rare for celebrities to open up about their lives before they hit it big, or during their darker times behind the scenes. For example, you might never know that actress Jane Seymour was in a rough spot before booking the lead role on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. The popular show, which aired between 1993 and 1998, earned Jane critical acclaim and a second Golden Globe Award. Even those who didn't watch the show were quite familiar with it — especially since at the time, there were no other shows like it.

As it turns out, Jane literally had to beg her agent for a role — any role — before being offered the job. As she revealed to Entertainment Tonight, her ex-husband had put her $9 million in debt andleft her homeless. This is shocking, especially since she had plenty of credits to her name prior. Jane's very first role happened way back in 1969, and she had worked steadily since.
While she went through some dark times, her role as Dr. Quinn ended up changing her life for multiple reasons. Aside from helping her out financially, she also fell in love. "Never fall in love with your leading man in the pilot … and then break up before they pick it up," she joked with Entertainment Tonight. "All that sexual tension you saw? It was real!"
She ended up marrying someone else involved with the show — director James Keach. The two went on to have two children together but ended up splitting in 2015. All in all, Jane has been married four times.
