JD Vance Says Childless Teachers ‘Really Disturb’ Him In Resurfaced Video Clip

Another comment J.D. Vance has made about "people without kids" has resurfaced, and this time, he's targeting childless teachers. In July, Vance's previous comments about "childless cat ladies" resurfaced. In July 2021, the Republican vice-presidential candidate claimed that "we’re effectively run in this country, via the Democrats, via our corporate oligarchs, by a bunch of childless cat ladies."

He went on to call them "miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made," and listed Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as examples of these "childless cat ladies."

In the newly resurfaced clip, Vance makes some similar comments about "the leaders of the left." He made the comments in October 2021 at a Center for Christian Virtue leadership forum, per NBC News.

He accused these childless "leaders of the left" of "brainwashing" children, and specifically called out Randi Weingarten, the president of the American Federation of Teachers.

"So many of the leaders of the left, and I hate to be so personal about this, but they’re people without kids trying to brainwash the minds of our children, that really disorients me and disturbs me," Vance said in the clip from 2021.

He went on to say that Weingarten "doesn’t have a single child," and even added that she should have her own children.

"Randi Weingarten, who’s the head of the most powerful teachers' union in the country, she doesn’t have a single child," Vance said at the time. "If she wants to brainwash and destroy the minds of children, she should have some of her own and leave ours the h— alone.”

Vance's previous comments about "childless" people has led some to question what he really means by "childless," and whom he considers to be a "real mom."

When his comments about Harris being "childless" resurfaced, many were quick to point out that Kamala is a stepmom (though she prefers the term "Momala") to two children, Cole and Emma Emhoff.

Weingarten is also a stepmother. She previously referred to herself as a "mother by marriage" because her wife, Sharon Kleinbaum, has children from a previous marriage.

On X, Weingarten responded to Vance's resurfaced comments, calling them "insulting to millions of modern families."

"Gross!" Weingarten wrote on the platform. "JD Vance's comments are sad and insulting to millions of modern families, and school teachers including Catholic nuns, none of whom should be targeted for their family decisions."
