Cats are wonderful pets. Felines are spunky with minds of their own, which keeps their owners both entertained and on their toes. Jenna Bush Hager loves them despite being allergic to them. Her 8-year-old daughter Poppy got a new kitten for Christmas.
The new addition to the family is named Mr. Mango Mellow. He joined the family's other cat, Hollywood, and is feeling quite at home with the whole Hager clan. Hollywood and Mr. Mango Mellow even cuddled.
Poppy was thrilled with her present. "We got him yesterday, and it's so far so good," Jenna shared on Today with Hoda & Jenna. "Santa gave Poppy the baby, and she was so excited she nearly started to cry. She told all her friends."
The name is unique but Jenna says so is Poppy. "I didn't name him. He's Poppy's. I can't go inside that brilliant brain,” she gushed.

Jenna has been open about both her love for felines and her allergy. "I took an extra Zyrtec, and everything's all good," she stated. Cohost Hoda Kotb asked Jenna if she is OK being a cat lady. "I'm comfortable standing there," Jenna stated. "I feel good with my feet on the ground. I feel happy being who I am."
Jenna has a history of loving the furry creatures. "As a little girl, I loved cats so much. They were the forbidden fruit 'cause I was highly allergic," she explained. "From the time we were born, we had a cat. And I would just sit there, sucking my thumb with my eyes swollen shut 'cause I'm highly allergic. And I don't care. So here we are.”
