Kelly Clarkson On Her Weight Loss: ‘Everybody Thinks It’s Ozempic, But It’s Not’

Kelly Clarkson admitted that she has lost "a lot" of weight — but she did not use Ozempic. On the Monday, May 13, 2024, episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly complimented Whoopi Goldberg, 68, telling her that she looks "[looks] younger" every time she sees her. "First of all, it's all the weight I've lost. I've lost almost two people," Whoopi told Kelly, 42. Whoopi weighed 300 pounds at one point, while Kelly said she weighed 203 pounds at her heaviest. Both Kelly and Whoopi said they didn't notice how much weight they had gained at first.

Kelly explained that she truly "didn't see it" until reviewing the tape of a birthday show she had taped.

Whoopi had a similar experience, noting that she didn't really notice until someone on the set of Till thought she was wearing a fat suit. “I was indignant! I was like, ‘this is not a fat suit! This is me!’ And then I saw…” Whoopi explained.

“You see it and you’re like, ‘she’s about to die of a heart attack,’” Kelly interjected.

Though Kelly said the feeling was hard to explain, she said that she was "never insecure" about her weight and she was happy. "People assume, 'she must've been miserable, depressed…'" Kelly continued. "And I was like, 'No. I was not.'"

Whoopi added that it's hard to really notice when you're "living your life." "You're doing what you need to do and that's the last thing you're thinking about," she said.

Both Whoopi and Kelly have lost weight with the help of medication. "I am doing that wonderful shot that works for folks who need some help, and it's been really good for me," Whoopi shared.

Kelly said, "Mine is a different one than people assume, but I ended up having to do that too because my bloodwork got so bad." She later clarified that "everybody thinks it's Ozempic, but it's not. It's something else."
