What to Know
Ken Jennings is not holding back from sharing how he really feels about President Donald Trump, and people love him for it. Not long after Renee Good, 37, was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent, the 51-year-old Jeopardy! host took to social media to assert that he will back a 2028 presidential candidate who seeks to “prosecute” Trump administration officials. People were shocked to see such a bold assertion coming from the game show host, but were also happy to see someone using their platform to speak out against President Donald Trump.
Jennings made his views abundantly clear.
In a post on Bluesky on January 7, Jennings wrote, “The ‘prosecute the former regime at every level’ candidate has my vote in 2028.” Simple. Straightforward. And exactly what many Trump critics wanted to hear. Reacting to his post, one fan called Jennings “the nicest person in entertainment,” while others appreciated how he skipped over any niceties when making this statement. “Yeah, I’m over the nice reconciliation thing. Some people need to go to jail,” someone commented.
Jennings also re-posted several Bluesky posts criticizing ICE, including one that read, “The murderer’s name is Jonathan Ross,” referring to the ICE agent who shot and killed Renee Good. As he continued to share his thoughts, he noted in a separate post that he had “been a-blockin’ and a-mutin’ all afternoon,” suggesting that some people did not exactly agree with his perspective.
The Jeopardy! host also expressed his frustration the day before. On January 6, he wrote, “America is always like ‘ok but the NEXT regime change will work,’ like when I ‘cut out carbs’ briefly every January.”
People really appreciated the honesty.

At this point, many Americans are fed up and don’t want to hear people tip-toeing around what the Trump administration is doing. Though people were happy to see someone telling it like it is, they didn’t expect Jennings to be the one to do it. “Can’t believe the host of Jeopardy has more political backbone than the dem party leadership,” one person on Reddit wrote. A second Redditor commented, “Oh s—. And this is a dude who faces real pressure to not make any sort of political statements.”
Another surprised fan said, “Who could have predicted Ken Jennings would be part of the resistance (not me 10 years ago).” And a fourth person jokingly apologized to Jennings for not recognizing that he would speak up in this way: “Sorry Ken Jennings I wasn’t familiar with your game,” they wrote.
