Now that Kevin Costner is single, numerous rumors about his love life have started circulating. At one point, people thought he and Reese Witherspoon might be dating. More recently, Kevin and Jewel sparked dating rumors. Then, in November, Kevin and another actress reportedly hit it off at the Governors Awards ceremony. An insider recently told In Touch that Kevin Costner appeared to connect with Sharon Stone at the ceremony on November 17.
According to the In Touch source, “sparks were flying” when Kevin and Sharon spoke. The insider claims that the two actors even “exchanged numbers” during the flirty interaction.
The Yellowstone star and his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner finalized their divorce in February 2024 after nearly 20 years of marriage. Though many people seem concerned about Kevin’s love life, a source recently told Life & Style that Kevin is “not quite as desperately pathetic as people think.” He’s reportedly dating casually and not necessarily looking for a serious relationship, according to the insider.

“He’s been on several dates with women who are trusted and vetted by friends and is having some good rebound fun,” the source told the publication. While Kevin and Sharon’s alleged flirty encounter was quite recent, it comes months after Sharon publicly showed her support for Kevin as he navigated his tumultuous divorce. According to multiple outlets, the actress compared Christine Baumgartner’s behavior to that of her ex-husband, Phil Bronstein.
Though Kevin and Sharon might’ve bonded over their messy divorces, witnesses claim that their connection seemed to go beyond that. A source told Radar that “they flirted up an absolute storm. There was great chemistry between them and everyone in the room just couldn’t keep their eyes off of them.”
“And they’ve both been through difficult divorces in recent years so both deserve a bit of peace and stability in their lives,” the source continued.
As of December 5, Kevin has not commented on the alleged flirty encounter. He seems to prefer to keep his dating life private, but in June, he addressed some romance rumors while on Sirius XM’s The Howard Stern Show. At the time, he claimed that his relationship with Jewel was strictly platonic. “Jewel and I are friends,” he said, adding that they’ve never gone out on a romantic date.
“She’s fantastic, she’s special, and I don’t want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that’s what we have,” Kevin said at the time.
