This video posted by Unseen on YouTube shares details about this true crime missing person and murder case that all started when a manager was so worried about her employee not showing up to work that she went to her home to check in and found an empty house filled with bloodstains.
It was the home of mother Tina Herrmann and her two children, a 13-year-old named Sarah Maynard and her 11-year-old brother, Kody.

When police searched the home, they discovered bloodstains starting at the front door and leading all the way down the hallway to the bathroom. It appeared that the suspect had poured motor oil over the blood stains, contaminating the evidence. Fortunately for Ohio police, the motor oil revealed a single footprint in the hallway of the Hermann residence.
With that single footprint, authorities were able to determine the brand of the shoe and its size, which led them to believe that 13-year-old Sarah had walked out of the home and was still alive.
Police talked to the children’s father, Tina Herrmann’s ex-husband with a violent past, but he was soon put on the back burner in terms of suspects, as he seemed actively concerned about the whereabouts of his children.

Investigators then found a receipt from Walmart that led them to a local store parking lot, which helped them to identify the car linked to this case.
With further investigation, they found themselves at a local residence that was strangely filled with piles and bags of leaves. After scanning the home, they quickly discovered a clothes dresser pushed up against a basement door, which led them to find a frightened but still alive Sarah.
