Mariah Kennedy-Cuomo just got married, and included several Kennedy family traditions in her wedding celebration. Mariah, 29, is the daughter of Andrew Mark Cuomo and Kerry Kennedy, who is the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Skakel Kennedy.
Of the Kennedy family traditions that Mariah embraced when she married Tellef Lundevall, her wedding cake stood out — especially because of the photos that show other members of the Kennedy family with similar wedding cakes. On Instagram, Mariah's mother shared a collage that included a picture of Mariah cutting her eight-tier wedding cake beside a picture of Eunice Kennedy Shriver cutting her eight-tier cake in 1953.
"Thank you Aunt Eunice Kennedy Shriver for inspiring the wedding cake! ," Kerry captioned the collage. E-commerce platform Over The Moon also shared photos of Mariah's wedding cake in a slideshow that featured images of both Eunice's eight-tier cake and her daughter Maria Shriver's similar cake.
Like her relatives did in the past, Mariah stood on a ladder to cut her cake, which was made by Confectionery Designs and took 60 to 75 hours to make, per People. Mariah told Vogue that the cake "was inspired by my great-aunt Eunice Kennedy Shriver’s wedding cake, a feat by Confectionary Designs."
"Atop was a silver bell with our engagement date inscribed," she added.

Their wedding celebration was held over a period of three days, with the ceremony happening on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Mariah told Vogue that "the ceremony was all about love from start to finish."
"Love was the subject of each Bible reading, spoken to in our personal vows, and felt from the warmth emanating from those who had gathered at our ceremony to witness, celebrate, and support us," she continued when speaking to the outlet. "I felt overjoyed, peaceful, blessed, loved, and complete."
