Marjorie Taylor Greene Accuses Trump Of Blaming JD Vance For His Mistakes

Marjorie Taylor Greene seems to think President Donald Trump is looking for someone else to blame for his mistakes, and according to her, that person seems to be Vice President JD Vance. Ever since Trump announced U.S. military operations in Iran, Greene has criticized him for it. Recent coverage of the war has Greene convinced that Trump is trying to throw Vice President JD Vance under the bus.

Previously, Vance made it extremely clear that he did not support launching a war on Iran. However, during an interview with RealClearPolitics, Trump claimed that Vance actually didn’t need to be persuaded to change his mind about it.

Then, Greene reposted a report from AF Post.

AF Post claims to report the news “from an America First perspective.” On X, AF Post wrote, “VP JD Vance reportedly swayed President Trump to launch a large attack with the purpose of toppling the Iranian government rather than a smaller, limited strike intended to spur negotiations.” Greene was clearly outraged by this report, as she shared her reaction to it on X.

“Ohhh. @JDVance did it,” she wrote. “They hate JD. They don’t ever want him to be President. So now that they f—ed up so bad and they are getting our military members killed for Israel, it’s JD’s fault. Not Trump’s fault. Or any of the neocons screaming 24/7 in his ear. What’s the truth?”

But reactions to Greene’s interpretation were very mixed.

Some people agreed with her. “They know JD is cooked for 2028 so they throw him under the bus,” one person wrote in response. Someone else said, “I was wondering who they were going to blame this on. Trump made the final decision it’s on him.” And another person questioned whether Vance would actually say anything about it. “Now the question is whether @JDVance is man enough to refute this or will he continue to cower in Trump’s shadow to avoid making the MAGA cult angry?” they wondered.

But a few people argued that both Trump and Vance are to blame for the Iran war, so there’s no reason to defend Vance.

“No it’s both of their faults.. mostly Trump though,” one person said. Another critic added, “He lies on Trumps behalf. Don’t prop him up. His political career should end with Trump’s.”

However, several people disagreed with Greene’s interpretation of the report. “I think you are failing in this interpretation,” someone else wrote. “I think this is to cause division in the Trump Administration.”

Vance previously portrayed himself as an anti-interventionist. In 2023, he even wrote an op-ed titled, “Trump’s Best Foreign Policy? Not Starting Any Wars.” At the time, he wrote, “He has my support in 2024 because I know he won’t recklessly send Americans to fight overseas.” And yet, here we are.
