In a nostalgic and introspective moment, a mother recently went viral by trying on her old Hooters uniform from 30 years ago to see if it would still fit. I’m already loving this woman and her confidence!
Nikki Merrill, a 49-year-old mom of three, worked at a Hooters in South Carolina and Aruba from 1993 to 1999. Recently, while cleaning out her attic, she came across her old Hooters uniform that she held onto. At first, she didn’t think the uniform would still fit her, but she surprised herself as well as her whole family.
In an interview with Inside Edition, Nikki talks about how her uniform was extra small, and she’s gained at least 20 pounds since then, so she was a little nervous about being able to get into her old uniform.
Sure enough, she did! She also didn’t hesitate to show off her amazing retro Hooters look on TikTok. In the video, Nikki shows viewers what the uniform looks like on her, and then she shows her husband’s reaction.
She explains to him that she wanted to see if she could still fit in her old uniform and, without hesitation, he replied with, “DAMN!” Her husband definitely understood the assignment! Shortly after his amazing reaction, she tells him that she can’t breathe because it is so tight!
When the whole family was interviewed by Inside Edition, Nikki’s three daughters and her husband did nothing but praise her for how great she looked and how much they loved seeing her in her old uniform.

Moments like these, I love. Nikki showed viewers and her family how important and fun it can be to reflect on one's journey. It reminds us to embrace our past experiences, appreciate the lessons learned, and embrace the individuals we have become.
I’m hoping everyone can take a little advice from Nikki. People age, women age, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn't feel beautiful. Age is just a number — focus on your love for yourself, and have fun doing it!
