An old 'Mythbusters' clip is making the rounds online. The clip shows what happens to a body when it is involved in a deep sea implosion, and interest in the topic is surging due to the tragic loss of the OceanGate Titan submersible and the crew onboard.
The video, which was filmed for educational purposes in line with the show's mission, is graphic in detail. In the 2009 clip, a mannequin recreated from pig parts is lowered into the sea.
The mannequin is sunk 300 feet underwater and the diving suit is depressurized. The pressure at that point is approximately nine times that of the sea level.
After 30 seconds, the clip shows that the contents of the suit were pushed into the helmet.
It has been noted that the simulation is not particularly similar to the likely fate of those on board the lost OceanGate submersible. For starters, the five were killed instantaneously, likely before they realized there was a problem.

The submersible also imploded at a much deeper part of the ocean, approximately 12,500 feet below the surface.
