People are talking about Queen Letizia's alleged affair, and a new book has added fuel to the fire. Months ago, the queen of Spain's former brother-in-law, Jamie del Burgo, claimed that he dated Queen Letizia while she was married to King Felipe VI. He claimed that their relationship lasted until 2011, then in 2012, he married her sister, Telma.
The allegations came to light via a book called Letizia & I, which was written by journalist Jaime Peñafiel. Now, in a new book titled Letitia’s Silences, Jaime claims that Felipe knew about the cheating.
Felipe reportedly felt "crushed and destroyed," according to the new book.
"The bodyguards that protected Letizia wherever and whoever she went with had the obligation to inform," he wrote in the book, reported the New York Post.
"Which is why Felipe had to know that Letizia was cheating on him in real time, given the fact that those bodyguards accompany her when she has official events and when she doesn’t," according to the book.

That means the bodyguards were also with her when she allegedly met up with Jaime del Burgo in New York in 2011.
"That day, she was accompanied by her faithful escorts, who, without a doubt, any, they would pass a report to the Ministry of the Interior or [the Palace of] Zarzuela," he wrote in the book.
Queen Letizia married King Felipe in 2004. She reportedly dated Jamie for a while before marrying Felipe. However, Jamie claimed that he saw Letizia the day before her wedding and that she allegedly said, "Never leave me."
Jamie added that he continued to see Letizia when she was married, including during one of her pregnancies.
He shared a photo of Letizia on X as "proof" of their relationship. The photo he shared was a selfie taken by Letizia. The Mirror reported that he claimed she sent the photo to him during one of her pregnancies, and was also wearing something that belonged to him.
The author of the books previously worked for Spanish newspaper El Mundo but was fired, reported The Independent. Some have critiqued his work, saying that he has a personal bias against the queen and is “determined to end the Queen’s career," according to the outlet.
In the recent book, Jaime described Letizia as "cold" and "passive aggressive." The book also alleged that Letizia's in-laws "hate" her.
Queen Letizia and King Felipe VI recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. However, Jaime alleges that the couple is simply "keeping up appearances."
