A man is distraught after witnessing the tragic death of his adventure-loving girlfriend. Andrea Pedata, 34, captured the last moments of his partner, 31-year-old Valentina Fino's life before she fell to her death while they were on on a romantic hike in Italy.
The couple loved exploring the outdoors together, so their hike was nothing out of the ordinary — and definitely not something Pedata thought would turn into a harrowing tragedy hours later, after he filmed a video of Fino confidently climbing a rockface in the Pietra Tagliata pass in Italy's Apennines, on August 10, 2024.

Tragedy struck when Fino accidentally lost her footing and fell about 330 feet from the mountain, down the Barbarossa trail according to LADbible. Pedata called for help and managed to lower himself to where Fino was, in an attempt to save her. Sadly, there was nothing he could do.
Fino's body was recovered by fire department helicopters hours later. She was buried on August 14, 2024, in the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta in Borgo Panigale.

"I heard a scream and saw her fall," Pedata said. "I'm destroyed, it hurts too much. We had many plans together about life and excursions. The only consolation is that she left doing what she loved most in the world."
