It takes a big person to admit they were wrong. Or, it takes a ton of decisions from a person in power that probably weren’t for the greater good to make that person’s former supporters eat crow. Either way, in a video that MS NOW posted on TikTok featuring Ohioans who voted for Donald Trump, the former supporters admit where they went wrong.
Yes, that’s right. Ohio, a red state for the 2024 election. Clearly, the majority of voters in the state voted for Trump and he won the state, among many others, to bring him the overall win against Kamala Harris. But, according to the video, some of his Ohio supporters are backtracking now that they have seen the negative aspects of Trump in power.
The Trump voters regret their decisions.
@msnow "You still can't beat inflation, no matter what. Well, it seems we never catch up, no matter what. We're always behind the eight ball." @alextabetmsnow spoke with Trump voters in Ohio who shared their frustrations with the president's handling of the economy. #news #Ohio #economy #trump ♬ original sound – MS NOW
In the video, people cite high grocery prices and an unstable job market for reasons they wish they hadn’t voted for Trump to be the president. Trump has not admitted responsibility for the rising cost of gas, groceries, and everything in between, or the general higher cost of living that middle class individuals might have once been able to handle well. But the former MAGA supporters in the TikTok seem to blame him regardless.
When the MS NOW reporter asks one man if America feels “great again,” in direct reference to Trump’s long-standing Make America Great Again slogan, a man admits, “No, not at all. You know, I can get laid off tomorrow and then I’m pretty much homeless. Because, you know, you can’t save now. Every dollar you have has to go to gas, groceries, bills, rent.”
At another point in the video, the journalist talks to a mom at a gas pump. She admits that America does not feel great again “in the way everyone wanted.” She then says that “you can’t afford to breathe at this point.”
Another parent in the video, a father, admits that “it’s hard” in the current economic climate to give your kids what they need and anything extra. The former Trump supporters seem to be in agreement that Trump himself is indeed to blame, and that this isn’t the United States they originally voted for in voting for him a second time.
Someone said that these people “voted to be racist, not poor.”

Even if former members of the MAGA movement see the light now, some longtime Trump critics aren’t ready to be as forgiving as others. They commented on the TikTok to point out that these former Trump supporters are only upset now because the negative aspects of Trump’s presidency are affecting them, and they expected others to be affected.
Others commented to say that they think these people would still vote for Trump if it meant not voting for a Black candidate in the future.
“They voted for this but only intended for Black and brown people to be affected,” one user commented on the TikTok.
Another added, “They voted to be racist, not poor.”
“They voted for racial inequality and received increased cost of living,” someone else wrote.
Trump critics are glad MAGA is experiencing hardships now.

Regardless of how much these former MAGA members feel now, according to the MS NOW video, they did originally vote for Trump. And their vote for Trump is a strike against them, according to those who never wanted Trump in office to begin with.
Several TikTok users commented not to give these people the benefit of the doubt now, but instead to claim they will continue to “vote red” no matter what.
“I have no sympathy,” one person commented.
“We don’t care,” another agreed. “They can cry. I am watching them and feeling absolutely nothing about them.”
