Princess Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi July 17, 2020. On her wedding day, she not only got a husband but a stepson, Christopher Woolf. Beatrice fully embraces her role as a stepmom and loves “Wolfie” with her whole heart.
Thankfully, Beatrice also enjoys a friendly relationship with Wolfie’s mom, architect and designer Dara Huang. The women consider themselves a team working to raise Wolfie into the best version of himself. Dara opened up about this in a March 2024 interview with Harper's Bazaar UK.
There are no wicked stepmothers here. "Wolfie has had two sets of parents trying to help him on both sides, and I just think, 'The more, the merrier,'" Dara gushed. "I feel lucky to have such positive people around him, who really embrace him — because it didn’t have to be so easy."
Dara makes the conscious choice to create a loving atmosphere for her son to thrive. "It's all about your point of view," she explained. "I don't understand people who are divorced and then hold their children as collateral; that doesn't make any sense. It’s about creating a happy home and lifestyle."

Dara doesn’t just talk the talk. She also walks the walk and has since the beginning. When Princess Beatrice and Edo announced their engagement in 2019, she was one of the first to congratulate the happy couple. "I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families," she stated.
Beatrice also valued her role as a stepmom from the beginning. She is the first royal family member of her generation to become one. A source close to the situation opened up to People about this in 2020. "Beatrice is a wonderful and very hands-on stepmom," they gushed.
Wolfie is now 8 years old. He has joined the extended royal family at numerous events. He attended the Platinum Jubilee Pageant celebrating Queen Elizabeth in 2022. He was present at a 2023 Christmas concert hosted by Kate Middleton.
Wolfie became a big brother in September 2021 when Beatrice and Edo welcomed their daughter. Sienna Elizabeth is crazy about him. Beatrice and Edo love being a family of four.
Beatrice shared her love of reading with Wolfie. It was a great distraction during the COVID-19 shutdowns. "This year, I had the great honor to become a stepmother, and have had the most remarkable time going back over some of my most favorite stories at bedtime," Beatrice opened up to the Evening Standard in 2021. "Together, we had such a special time reading through all the entries for Oscars Book Prize 2020."
Being a parent during the pandemic was not easy. Reading helped Wolfie and Beatrice find something to do. "My stepson has been, as many children have, home-schooling this term,” she explained. “Helping him to engage with stories is a great journey to inspire imagination, creativity, independence and humor. If you have not yet read the Oi Frog books by Kes Grey and Jim Field, they have fast become our favorite."
